Police kill 2 Bank robbery suspects in Osun

during a raid on a new generation bank
– The incident occurred in Ikirun local
government area
The Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO) of the Osun
state command, DSP Folashade Odoro made this
known stating that 2 bank robbery suspects were
killed during a shootout between the bandits and the
police.

DSP Folashade explained that the robbers were many
in number. She said while 2 were gunned down, 2
others were captured alive with one of the captured
sustaining serious bullet wounds.The police image maker said the robbers used
explosives and dynamites placed at specific locations
in order to break into the bank. She continued by
saying that men of the anti-bomb squad were alive to
their responsibilities as the successfully defused the
bomb before they could explode.
Odoro said although the robbers were not fortunate
with their actions, some of them escaped through the
residential areas of the place. She later advised
residents to inform the police in case they see any
stranger in the area.
She concluded by stating that some weapons like
pistols were recovered from the bank robbery
suspects in addition to the money stolen before they
could be carted away.
