Adamawa starts campaign on how to identify suicide bomber

– The Adamawa State government has started
awareness campaign on how to recognise a
suicide bomber;
– The campaign includes​ jingles on radio and TV,
distribution of posters with practical advice on
how to detect a potential martyr;
– Hotlines to call in case of any emergency:
08021366660 and 09038800688.
In the wake of recurrent suicide attacks in the state
and the whole country, the Adamawa State
government has started awareness campaign on how
to detect a potential suicide bomber.
The campaign aimed at awareness developing,
includes radio jingles on radio and television,
distribution of leaflets and posters in English and
Hausa language.

One of the posters obtained from the state Ministry
of Information team provides helpful indications on
how to to detect a suspect individual whose attitude
suggests he might be carrying an improvised
explosive device.
It contains 16 points on security awareness that
reads in part:
" – He or she wears loose clothing giving the
impression that the body is disproportionally larger
than the head or feet.
– He or she appears to be focused and vigilant and
may be fervently praying to him/herself- giving the
appearance of whispering to someone.

– He or she display​s​ no response to authoritative
voice or direct salutation.
– He or she demonstrates forceful action (to reach a
desired target by pushing their way through a crowd
or restricted area)."

It woukd be recalled that no fewer than 10 people
have been confirmed dead while 30 others were
injured following triple explosions that rocked the
Chibok town of Borno state on Wednesday, January
27
.
