NEMANJA VIDIC ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT
Manchester United legend Nemanja Vidic has
released a statement to ManUtd.com announcing
his retirement from football.
The former Reds captain, who recently left Inter
Milan, has decided to call time on his career at the
age of 34. He played for United for eight years from
January 2006 to May 2014, helping the club to win
five Premier League titles, three League Cups, the
Champions League and the Club World Cup.
"The time has come for me to hang up my boots,"
said Vidic. "The injuries I have had in the last few
years have taken their toll.
"I would like to thank all the players I have played
with, all the managers and staff I have worked with,
and say a big 'thank you' to the fans for their support
over the years."
Everyone at United would like to thank Nemanja
again for his eight years of service to the club and to
wish him all the best for his retirement.
